Tobias Brink not satisfied with second in 2022 opener

Tobias Brink was closest to reigning champion Robert Dahlgren in the first STCC TCR Scandinavia race of 2022, finishing second, less than two seconds behind.

But the Brink Motorsport driver was not happy.

“Our goal was on pole and the victory, but we have to settle for second this time,” said Brink.

Brink, who finished third overall last year behind the PWR Racing pair of Dahlgren and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, had qualified third.

The Audi RS 3 LMS II driver managed to out drag Lestrup Racing Team rival Oliver Söderström at the start.

Brink then shadowed Dahlgren throughout the race but never got close enough to seriously challenge for the win.

“What I’m most pleased with from this weekend was my start in the race and that we’ve shown promising pace,” said Brink.

“But we want to be at the very top and we are going to reload ahead of Skellefteå to achieve our goals there.”
