Jessica Bäckman takes Salzburgring pole position

Jessica Bäckman claimed pole position for the second TCR Germany race at the Salzburgring for ROJA Motorsport.

The Swede lapped the Austrian circuit in 1:25.577 behind the wheel of her Hyundai Veloster N TCR, 0.182 seconds faster than Honda driver Martin Andersen.

Team Engstler occupied two of the top three positions, with Race 1 winner Szymon Ladniak third fastest, just below four tenths from pole.

Bäckman’s team-mate René Kircher was fourth fastest ahead of Jonas Karklys of Jutaracing.

Max Gruhn rounded off the top six behind the wheel of his Audi RS 3 LMS, just over a second from Bäckman’s time.

The second and final race of the weekend is scheduled for 13:45 CEST.
