Oliver Söderström and Mattias Andersson claim Gelleråsen pole positions
Oliver Söderström and Mattias Andersson claimed one pole position each in STCC TCR Scandinavia qualifying at Gelleråsen Arena, held in dry conditions despite dark rain clouds looming the circuit.
Lestrup Racing Team driver Söderström beat Andersson to pole in Q1 by just 83 thousands of a second.
Reigning champion Robert Dahlgren held the top spot earlier in the session, but dropped down to finish third, 0.134 seconds adrift.
Brink Motorsport driver Hugo Nerman claimed fourth position on the grid for the first race ahead of Lestrup Racing Team driver Andreas Bäckman.
Tobias Brink (Audi), Axel Bengtsson (Cupra) and independent Volkswagen driver Marius Solberg Hansen rounded off the top eight as the final drivers to make it onto the Q2 session. Christian Skaar just missed out on his first Q2 session to finish in ninth position for Team Auto Lounge.
The Q2 session saw Lynk & Co driver Andersson claiming the top spot right at the end of the session, beating PWR Racing driver Dahlgren by 0.120 seconds.
Race 1 pole sitter Söderström had to settle for third, 0.211 seconds from pole.
The Brink Motorsport duo of Nerman and Brink claimed positions four and five, separated by a single thousand of a second.
Bengtsson and Solberg Hansen finished seventh and eighth.
The first race of the weekend starts at 10:40 CEST on Saturday.
