Hugo Nerman praises team on repair effort to pole position

Hugo Nerman crashed hard during the final STCC TCR Scandinavia test at Anderstorp, putting doubts on whether his Brink Motorsport team would be able to repair his Audi in time for qualifying.

But the Swede managed to bounce back with a hastily repaired car to claim pole position for the first race.

“It was a really enjoyable qualifying session with pole and a third place. But above all, a massive thank you to the team,” said Nerman.

“From a crash in the final test to getting out for qualifying and being able to set really quick lap times. I’ve got nothing but praise for the team who did all the work.”

Another driver who got back from a setback in testing was Cupra driver Axel Bengtsson who had no experience of Anderstorp prior to this race weekend.

The PWR Racing driver missed the majority of test session due to technical issues, but still managed to secure second place on the grid for the second race.

“I don’t know what to say, I just went out and drove as fast as I could,” said Bengtsson.

“We had issues during testing which meant that I lost a lot of valuable time. But to secure a second and sixth place finish in my first qualifying at this track feels incredibly rewarding, big thanks to the team.”
