Mikel Azcona excluded from Sachsenring qualifying

Hyundai Motorsport N driver Mikel Azcona has been excluded from the results of the Pool Furious qualifying session at the Sachsenring because of a technical infringement.

The scrutineers found that the upper part of the wheel in the Spaniard’s Hyundai Veloster N ETCR was 5 mm outside of the bodywork, an infringement of the technical regulations.

As a result, the stewards excluded Azcona from the Pool Furious qualifying results, where he had finished in second position.

This means that the Spaniard instead will take part in the quarter final two, which awards less points.
