Lo Sze Ho wins safety car interrupted first TCR Asia Challenge race at Macau

Lo Sze Ho won the first TCR Asia Challenge race of the weekend on the streets of Macau from second place on the grid, a race started behind the safety car due to drying conditions.

Honda driver Shaun Thong started from pole but could not withstand the pressure from Lo Sze Ho, hitting the tyre wall at low speed at Police on the first lap.

This handed the lead to Hyundai driver Lo Sze Ho and second place to Lynk & Co driver Yan Chuang.

Shaun Thong was able to reverse his Honda and get back into the race in third place.

But Shaun Thong got into trouble on lap seven, hitting the lapped Honda of Ouyang Zhen Wei who collected the wall and stopped on track, bringing the safety car out on track.

Shaun Thong suffered a puncture from the contact and pitted to retire from the race.

The safety car headed back in with one lap left, with Evolve Racing driver Lo Sze Ho cruising to victory ahead of team Fancy driver Yan Chuang.

326 Racing Team Audi driver Chan Weng Tong claimed the final podium position ahead of Hu Heng, Li Ka Hei and Cheong Chi On.

The second and final race of the weekend starts at 14:00 local time/07:00 CET.
