Joker lap returns for Vila Real race weekend
The joker lap will return to world touring cars for the first time since 2022 as the FIA TCR World Tour race weekend at Vila Real will feature it for both races this year.
The joker lap route will be located at Turn 22, as in the past, and adds around two seconds per lap.
Each driver will have to complete two joker laps per race and it cannot be completed during the first two laps, with the Portuguese race weekend featuring two 60-kilometre races.
The joker lap was first introduced in 2017 for the races at Vila Real and remained until 2022.
The Portuguese race returned to the FIA TCR World Tour calendar last year, but the races then did not feature the joker lap.
