Viktor Andersson takes pole position at Paul Ricard

Monlau Motorsport’s Viktor Andersson scored the pole position at Paul Ricard, host of the second round of the 2026 TCR Spain season.

The Swede set a best lap time of 2:12.801, just 0.125 seconds ahead of fellow Cupra driver Matéo Herrero.

Honda drivers Felipe Fernández and Sten-Dorian Piirimagi were next, two and seven tenths behind the pole position respectively.

Erik Zabala was the fastest Audi driver in fifth place, albeit 1.9 seconds off the pace, followed by Cupra’s Tom Pussier, who had a lap deleted due to a track limits infraction.

Víctor Fernández Gil also had a lap deleted and could only manage seventh place at the wheel of his Honda, followed by Manuel Fernandes (Cupra) and three seconds off the pace.

The Audis of Busian Fontan and Mathieu Casalonga completed the top ten, with Samuel Chaligne (Cupra) missing out on P10 by just 12-thousandths of a second.

The TCR Spain field returns to the track on Saturday afternoon for Race 1 at 16:25 CEST.
