Audi and Jamie Green fastest on third Barcelona test day

Newly signed Audi driver Jamie Green was fastest on the third Barcelona DTM test day. The Brit lapped the circuit in 1:07.171 and was closely followed by DTM newcomer Pascal Wehrlein, a mere 0.065 seconds behind.
“A good day. We could complete our scheduled programme and executed every task we had on our list. That feels good. The track was dry, the sessions weren’t temporarily red-flagged and we didn’t encounter the slightest technical problems,” said Green.

The test was Wehrlein’s first ever laps in the DTM Mercedes AMG C-Coupé and the strong pace inspired the German for the coming test and season premiere.
“As things went rather well, today, I massively look forward to the tests tomorrow and to Hockenheim. For me as rookie it’s crucial to learn as much as possible that will prove to be helpful in the season. I think we gathered a lot of data and findings today that will allows us to make a step forward. It goes without saying that having set the second fastest time feels great – but I’m aware that this is just a test and will keep my feet on the ground,” said Wehrlein.

Filipe Albuquerque was third fastest ahead of Roberto Merhi, Adrien Tambay and Christian Vietoris. Top BMW driver was Dirk Werner in seventh position, 0.2 seconds from the top time set by Green.

The DTM test continues at Barcelona for the final day on Friday.
