Bruno Spengler stripped of pole; Jamie Green takes top spot

BMW’s Bruno Spengler has been stripped of pole position, following an incorrect tyre allocation between Q3 and Q4 at Oschersleben, reports Motorsport-Total.com.

The Schnitzer driver was found to have used a slick tyre in Q3, that was designated for the Q4 pole shoot out.

The DTM rules state tyres saved for Q4 cannot be used in another part of qualifying or the race.

As a result, the reigning DTM champion will take a five-place grid drop, which will see him demoted to sixth on the grid.

Jamie Green will now take his maiden Audi career pole, ahead of Augusto Farfus and Mike Rockenfeller, who round out the top-three.

Dirk Werner and Audi’s Filipe Albuquerque complete the top-six.
