Andy Priaulx confirms date for 2014 plans

BMW’s Andy Priaulx has revealed an announcement will be made on his 2014 plans on December 7.

The triple World Touring Car champion and one time European Touring Car champion moved to the DTM with the Münich manufacturer in 2012, but was unable to replicate his previous successes in the German series.

He finished his debut DTM season in 12th, but in 2013, finished the season joint 20th with team-mate, Martin Tomczyk, who also scored 10 points with the struggling RMG team.

Today Autosport reported that the Briton is set to leave the DTM at the end of 2013 following an announcement he will test one of BMW Team RLL Z4 GT3s this weekend at Sebring this weekend.

A following test will take place at Daytona next week.

However, nothing has been confirmed by Priaulx or BMW and it still remains a possibility he could remain a part of BMW’s DTM line up next year.

Despite the speculation and his unavailability to comment on the possible move to the newly formed US-based United SportsCar Championship, in recent weeks, Priaulx told TouringCarTimes his whereabouts in 2014 will be made public during the first week of December.

“An announcement on my future will be made on December 7 at the BMW Motorsport party.”
