Maxime Martin takes career first DTM pole in Moscow

Maxime Martin took his first ever DTM pole position in Moscow today. The BMW Team RMG driver secured pole with 1:28.619 and headed a BMW 1-2 with Bruno Spengler in second position.

Nico Müller was third fastest and the best Audi driver for Team Rosberg. Mike Rockenfeller and Adrien Tambay made it three Audis in the top five, with fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Augusto Farfus Jr claimed position six on the grid with 1:28.760, just ahead of championship leader Marco Wittmann in seventh position.

Mercedes was struggling at the Russian circuit with Norisring race winner Robert Wickens as their top driver in only 14th position, while his manufacturer colleagues were at the very bottom of the field.

The DTM race starts at 15.33 CET tomorrow.
