Tyre choices for the Zandvoort race

As usual, the DTM drivers have made their choices as to which tyre they will start the race on. This time, different strategies are on, with 13 cars starting on the “Option” compound, with the remaining 10 doing so on the “Standard” tyre.

The “Option” is a softer compound, and allows for significantly faster lap times, whilst the “Standard” allows for better durability. Whichever choice they make for the start, all drivers are obliged to make one pit stop within the allowed window, and use the other tyre during the race.

In Zandvoort, they will only be allowed to use the “Option” tyre for a maximum of 21 laps. All these limitations would be off if there was a wet race, but it doesn’t seem to be the case this weekend.

The choices are as follows:

Mike Rockenfeller (Audi RS 5 DTM): Option.

Timo Scheider (Audi RS 5 DTM): Option.

Augusto Farfus (BMW M4 DTM): Standard.

Joey Hand (BMW M4 DTM): Option.

Christian Vietoris (Mercedes C-Coupe DTM): Standard.

Paul Di Resta (Mercedes C-Coupe DTM): Option.

Mattias Ekström (Audi RS 5 DTM): Standard.

Antonio Félix Da Costa (BMW M4 DTM): Option.

Daniel Juncadella (Mercedes C-Coupe DTM): Standard.

Vitaly Petrov (Mercedes C-Coupe DTM): Standard.

Jamie Green (Audi RS 5 DTM): Option.

Nico Müller (Audi RS 5 DTM): Option.

The race start is scheduled for 13:33 CEST.
