Maximilian Götz confirmed for Mercedes DTM seat

Maximilian Götz has been confirmed to drive for Mercedes in the 2015 DTM season.
“The moment when I first found out that I will be racing in the DTM in 2015 will stay with me for a very long time. It’s a mega feeling to know that the success I achieved with different teams over the years during my time with the AMG Customer Sports Programme was being closely monitored by the racing bosses at Mercedes‑Benz,” said Götz.

The 28-year-old is the reigning Blancpain Sprint Series champion and drove a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 for HTP Motorsport in 2014.

“We would like to welcome Maximilian Götz to our DTM team for the 2015 season. Max has achieved many successes with the SLS AMG GT3 in recent years. His fine performance has earned him the opportunity to join the DTM. His step up from the Mercedes-AMG Customer Sports Programme to our DTM team shows the great opportunities that are open to young and successful racing drivers with Mercedes-Benz,” said Toto Wolff, Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.

Götz is the second confirmed Mercedes driver for the 2015 DTM season alongside Gary Paffett. Audi has confirmed all eight seats while one is left to be confirmed at BMW.
