Gary Paffett dominates the morning session in Oschersleben

Mercedes AMG and Gary Paffett have been the quickest around the Motorsport Arena Oschesleben this morning, as part of the second day of official testing taking place at the German circuit.

The Briton was the busiest man on track, completing 83 laps, with a best register of 1:20.309 at the wheel of his C63 DTM.

Tom Blomqvist had an impressive session, being BMW’s top man and second fastest, just 0.122 seconds off Paffett’s time.

Competition was high with third position going to Audi’s Mattias Ekström, lapping just 0.222 seconds off the pace.

Extensive setup and development work continued today for all three manufacturers, with Pascal Wehrlein fourth for Mercedes, followed by BMW’s Maxime Martin, Timo Glock and Martin Tomczyk.

Jamie Green was eighth on his Audi RS 5 DTM, followed by team mates Edoardo Mortara and Timo Scheider.

The season was red flagged half way through the morning, as Mercedes’ Daniel Juncadella spun off the track and his C63 DTM had to be recovered. The Spaniard stayed at his pit garage for the remainder of the session.

Testing resumes at 14:00 until 18:00 CEST.
