Timo Glock and BMW top final day of testing in Monteblanco

BMW Motorsport set the pace today in Monteblanco, in the third and final day of collective testing for the manufacturers involved in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. Timo Glock was the fastest man on track for the Bavarian squad.

Glock and Augusto Farfus took over from fellow BMW drivers Marco Wittmann and Bruno Spengler for the last day of testing, with the German completing 137 laps to set a fastest time of 1:21.311, also the quickest overall in the three days.

Mattias Ekström was again the best man for Audi Sport, finishing in second place overall. The Swede was 0.618 seconds off the pace.

Paul Di Resta followed in the lap charts, being only three thousands of a second slower than Ekström. The Scot continued to be impressed by the new C63 DTM: “We learned a lot about the car and I will be leaving Monteblanco with a good feeling. We definitely made a step forward over the last few days. Now I’m looking forward to the next test in Hockenheim.”

Jamie Green was fourth for Audi in his RS 5 DTM, followed by Augusto Farfus, who was the busiest man on track, completing 157 laps in his M4 DTM.

Gary Paffett was again hampered by technical issues in the morning, having to limit his time at the wheel to the afternoon. Still, the Briton managed to complete setup work with the Mercedes.

The next opportunity for the DTM drivers to get behind the wheel will be the official ITR tests in Hockenheim, from the 5th to the 8th of April.
