Ford enters STCC with Brovallen Design in preparation for TCR

Ford is going to be represented on the 2016 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship grid with team Brovallen Design.
”The main reason for us switching our cooperation partner is that we are preparing for the coming STCC regulations where Ford already have a ready solution,” said team owner Tobias Johansson.

The team is going to run two cars this season, with the ambition to expand to three, with Rasmus Mårthen, who drove for the team last year, as the so far confirmed driver.

”The goal is to get at least two cars on the grid and we are aiming for three,” said Johansson.

Brovallen Design has raced Kia in the STCC for the past three seasons, now switching to Ford in preparation for the rumoured but not yet confirmed switch to TCR regulations next year or in 2018 for the STCC.

”The cooperation has been really good and I want to thank Kia for these years,” said Johansson.

The team has not yet revealed the look of the new Ford race cars, but is expected to later this week with the season starting next weekend in Skövde.
