Christian Vietoris receives penalty in Lausitzring

Mercedes AMG driver Christian Vietoris won’t has received a penalty after being investigated for blocking during this afternoon’s qualifying session at the Lausitzring, host of the third round of the 2016 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season.

The Team Mücke driver was investigated for allegedly blocking Audi Sport’s Mattias Ekström during the qualifying session, with the stewards finding Vietoris guilty of wrongdoing. As a result, the German driver has received a five-place grid drop for Race 2. As he had qualified in second place, Vietoris will now start from the seventh spot on the grid.

The start of Race 2 is scheduled for 15:13 CEST.
