Audi will be the heaviest car for race one at Norisring

The Audi RS 5 DTM will be the heaviest car on the grid for the opening race of the weekend at the Norisring.

The performance weights based on the ideal laps after qualifying will see the Audi machines running at 1,125kg, with the Mercedes C63 DTM at 1,115kg and the BMW M4 DTM at 1,117.5kg.

This is based on the ideal laps of Jamie Green (48.034); Christian Vietoris (48.107) and Bruno Spengler (48.241) respectively, based on their best sectors set during this morning’s session.

This means the Audis have gained 5kg, with the Mercedes staying at the same weight and the BMWs shedding 5kg.
