BMW get weight break, Audi gain 5kg for Zandvoort Race 2

Jamie Green’s pole position has seen the DTM’s performance weight system allocate an addition 5kg of ballast for Audi for the race, with the RS 5s now back up to 1,127.5kg as they started the weekend, while BMW return to the position they were as the lightest car for the race.

Green’s ideal lap taking into account his perfect sectors was also his pole lap of 1:30.696, and has inherited the Audi cars an additional 5kg of ballast.

Timo Glock set the BMW squads benchmark after the German driver qualified in sixth position, one spot ahead of championship leader and fellow BMW driver Marco Wittmann, who was the fastest for BMW yesterday in qualifying and during the race.

Mercedes’ consistent pace means they gain another 5kg, and have risen from 1,117.5kg to 1,127.5kg throughout the course of the weekend and will be at their heaviest this afternoon.
