Mercedes and BMW to appeal their exclusions from the Hungaroring

Mercedes AMG and BMW Motorsport have both confirmed they plan to appeal against Daniel Juncadella’s and Marco Wittmann’s exclusion from today’s race at the Hungaroring.

Both Team HWA and Team RMG now have 96 hours to formally submit their appeal, and then will have one week to present relevant evidence to support their claims. The DMSB court of appeal will then convene to hear the evidence and make a final decision.

Sources from the DMSB have already said that the two manufacturers’ appeals may not able to be heard before the season finale in Hockenheim on October 16th.

Both drivers will remain excluded until the appeals have been heard and considered, and the race results, with championship classifications remaining provisional subject to the DMSB’s decision.
