Poulsen brothers to drive for Team Engstler in 2017 TCR Germany

Danish brothers Kristian and Roland Poulsen will drive for Team Engstler in the 2017 TCR Germany series.

”I am very proud of the fact that both brothers will give us the confidence and return to our team,” said team manager Franz Engstler. ”With Kristian, we were extremely successful in the WTCC in the past and could win the title. It is not only the sport, but also personally I am convinced to have a perfect package with the two guys.”

Kristian Poulsen last drove touring cars in 2011 for Team Engstler in the World Touring Car Championship when he won the independents trophy. The Dane has spent the last couple of years in sport scar racing, driving an Aston Martin in the 2016 24H Series.

“I have followed the development of TCR Germany during 2016. The series is already the strongest series in Europe and a new challenge for me in its second year, and a timely race calendar gives me the opportunity to participate again,” said Kristian Poulsen.

The ten years younger brother Roland Poulsen drove with Kristian in the 2016 24H Series and has driven various sportscars and touring car series since 2007.

The duo joins Team Engstler’s six-car squad and will drive a pair of Volkswagen Golf race cars of TCR specification.
