Timo Glock fastest on final day at Hockenheim

BMW Motorsport driver Timo Glock was the fastest driver on the fourth and final day of the DTM collective pre-season test held today at Hockenheim.

Cloudy skies and cool temperatures welcomed the DTM family at the Baden-Württemberg track, where also the official media day took place.

The German driver set a best lap time of 1:30.201 in the M4 DTM, which was also the fastest time of the week. Mercedes AMG’s Paul di Resta was second, just 0.037 seconds off the pace. Current champion Marco Wittmann was third, 0.061 seconds adrift of his fellow BMW driver.

Next on the time sheets was Mercedes AMG driver Lucas Auer, who clocked his fastest lap in the morning session, finishing 0.262 seconds behind Glock. Mike Rockenfeller was the fastest man for Audi Sport, 0.358 seconds off the pace.

Audi’s Mattias Ekström was sixth fastest overall, setting his fastest lap in the afternoon session, 0.402 seconds behind Glock. Bruno Spengler, who only ran in the morning, followed for BMW, with Robert Wickens setting the eighth fastest time of the day. René Rast was ninth for Audi, with Maxime Martin, on race simulations for BMW during the afternoon, completing the classification.

The pre-season test programme is now finished, with the next appointment for the DTM field being the season curtain raiser at Hockenheim, from the 5th to the 7th of May.
