Weight reduction for SEAT

SEAT has been allowed to reduce their base weight with 40 kilos. The decision was made after seeing the SEAT´s so far behind in pace at the first race of Donington Park.

“The aim is to make the Super 2000 cars as competitive as they should be. It´s not as much a break as people think, because they forget that the BTCC cars are also 24 kg lighter this year,” series manager Alan Gow said to Autosport.

“The rule of thumb is that if you laid a WTCC grid over a BTCC grid, the Alfa Romeo´s and BMW´s should be equivalent to the Vauxhall´s and Honda´s. This change will put SEAT where they sould be based on their WTCC pace.”
