Giovanardi joins Vauxhall

Fabrizio Giovanardi will join the Vauxhall team in BTCC for next year. The decision was announced yesterday. Giovanardi was left without a drive for a while since Alfa Romeo decided to leave WTCC, but the Italian is pleased with his new Brittish drive.

“For sure I´m really excited about joining VX Racing. Personally, I think they are the best team in the UK series. James Thompson, my team-mate at Alfa Romeo in the world touring cars, who used to drive for VX Racing, has also told me good things about the team,” Giovanardi said to Crash.net.

“I think next season will be good, it will be an experience and also a challenge,” he says. “It will be difficult for me at first because, other than Silverstone and Donington, I don´t know many of the British circuits. But I am a professional driver and I can learn quickly.”

Giovanardi´s team mate will be Tom Chilton.
