Mercedes ran three day test
Mercedes-Benz works drivers Bernd Schneider and Jamie Green completed the manufacturer’s three-day DTM test at Barcelona. In perfect weather conditions, the pairing completed more than 250 laps on the track located on Spain’s Mediterranean coast – representing a total mileage of about 1,050 kilometres, the highest day-mileage covered during the course of one of the three days.
Altogether, Mika Häkkinen, Bruno Spengler, Bernd Schneider and Jamie Green covered more than 2,600 kilometres, from Tuesday to Thursday. On 24th September, 2006, DTM is going to contest its maiden Spanish round, at the 4.627-kilometre ‘Circuit de Catalunya’.
Following the DTM tests, Schneider; Green and Spengler are going to travel to Cologne Rodenkirchen, for the 24-hour kart race held this weekend. There, the three Mercedes-Benz works drivers will have to battle it out with the likes of Martin Tomczyk or Pierre Kaffer. Quite obviously, these Team Abt-Sportline drivers will give their very best to prevent Schneider from securing his seventh consecutive win, in this event.
