Adam Caroll joins Audi in DTM

The last free DTM racing seat has been assigned. Adam Caroll, who already is contesting the official DTM tests at Oschersleben for Team Futurecom TME, will be the team-mate of Vanina Ickx, in the 2007 DTM season. For the 24-year old, the season opener at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg will not only represent his DTM debut.

At the same time, it will also be the start of the Briton’s first touring car season. With Caroll who won’t be an official works driver, all the ten Audi cockpits now have been assigned. Just as Ickx, he will race a 2005-spec Audi A4 DTM.

Adam Caroll contested his first race when being nine years old. He started his career back in 1993 in kart racing. Seven years later, he secured the title in the British Formula Ford Winter Series. Following a season in Formula Ford, he secured the title in the British Formula 3 Championship’s B category. In the middle off the 2003 season, he moved to the Formula 3 Euro Series, in 2004, he contested two rounds of the GP2 Series and succeeded in winning a race in Monaco. The highlight of his still short career was a Formula 1 test for BAR Honda in 2005.

”In addition to the successes he secured in his career so far, Adam has got a forceful personality and suits our team superbly. With his experience, he will contribute to the enhancement of our team,” said Team Principal Dr Colin Kolles.
