Tom Kristensen back in the DTM
Tom Kristensen caused a big surprise at Audi on Saturday. For the first time after his massive accident in the Hockenheim season opener, the Dane paid a visit to his team. On Saturday evening, the seven times’ Le Mans winner showed up in the paddock and informed his team about his situation.
“I am happy to be back in the DTM paddock and with my team. It is getting better and better for me. I wish Audi all the best of luck for the race on Sunday and I hope to be back in action again soon”, Kristensen said. On Monday, the 39-year old will announce during an official press conference whether or not he will be racing in the legendary 24-hour race this year.
On saturday evening Kristensen drove two stints of 10 laps with the DTM-taxi on the Brands Hatch circuit. The intention of the test was to see if Kristensen could set consistent lap-times.
