Markus Winkelhock replaces Carroll

Adam Carroll has been replaced by Markus Winkelhock at the Futurecom-TME team. The British driver was released from his contract after one of his sponsors failed payments.

Carroll’s position within the team was already under threat after his move to GP2 at the French and British Grand Prix. Carroll didn’t notify Futurecom-TME principal Colin Kolles of this move.

“From the sixth round of DTM in Mugello on, Team Futurecom-TME won’t appoint Adam Carroll as their driver,” the team stated on their website. “Due to non-fulfilment of sponsorship obligations the 24 year old from Northern Ireland will be replaced by Markus Winkelhock.”

“Team Futurecom-TME regrets the end of the working relationship and wishes Adam all the best for his further career.”
