Audi 1-2-3 in qualifying

Audi had a good qualifying at Nürburgring stealing the top three positions ahead of tomorrows race.

Martin Tomczyk, second-placed in the championship, did his championship hopes a lot of good with a pole position ahead of teammates Timo Scheider and Tom Kristensen.

Behind them six Mercedes drivers lined up headed by Bruno Spengler. Championship leader Mattias Ekström had his worse qualifying of the season ending up tenth.

Audi has so far looked to be the fastest car at the track but Mercedes seems to be strong over long runs. This could make for an exciting race tomorrow that can throw the championship battle open.
