Audi & Mercedes to talk about future
After the controversial DTM race at Barcelona Mercedes and Audi will sit down and talk about the future. Audi pulled out all their cars from the last race as they thought Mercedes were driving too rough after a number of incidents.
“We will sit together, once everyone has calmed down. I’m looking for a good race together at Hockenheim. We have proved, for example with the previous race at Nurburgring, that DTM can show great, tough sport, at the highest level. I think we all have to work on it, to have it again. I’m doing all I can do for this to happen,” said Audi Motorsports boss Wolfgang Ullrich.
Mercedes Motorsport boss Norbert Haug said that he gladly will discuss the future with Audi even though he disagreed with their decision to pull out all cars from the race at Barcelona.
“I hope we sit down and speak constructively. We have not had the chance to say when we will speak, but I am open. There were a lot of emotions during and just after the race. I think it is important to look at things again, then come to conclusions. We should all be careful now, and not over-stress the situation. We should not speculate. It is very important to discuss it step by step.”
