Gary Paffett wins “Laureus” media award
On 27th November, 2007, the ‘Laureus Medien Preis’ Germany will be awarded for the third time. The award is bestowed upon journalists and media that attended in a special way to the Laureus idea and content. The best contributions in the areas print, TV and photo will be decorated with an award.
Furthermore, there are two special awards, the ‘Medienperson des Jahres’ (Media Character of the Year) and the ‘Laureus Medien Ehrenpreis’ (Laureus Consolation Award), bestowed upon outstanding characters. The man who will be decorated with this year’s ‘Laureus Medien Ehrenpreis’ is Gary Paffett who raced an AMG Mercedes C-Class in the Laureus livery, this season, and succeeded in winning the Oschersleben round, with his 2006-spec car. While the goalkeeper of Germany’s women football national team will receive the special award ‘Medienperson des Jahres’.
Just as it was the case in 2006, the award ceremony will again be held in the ‘Witzigmann & Roncalli Bajazzo’. 400 invited guests from the media, sports and society worlds are expected to attend the event. The hosts of the evening will be the Laureus Academy members Edwin Moses and Boris Becker.
