Kristensen rates Brands return as high point

Tom Kristensen had an eventful season in the Deutche Tourenwagen Masters 2007. The Dane suffered from a big crash in the season premiere which eliminated him from the title race.
“Effectively, my season was over after turn 3 at Hockenheim. Up to that point, everything was fine. I had been looking forward to the season,” said Kristensen to DTM.de.

After slight contact with another car, Kristensen had spun at the entrance to the “Parabolica” and was then “torpedoed” at high speed by several vehicles running behind him. The Dane was taken to hospital but thankfully sustained no serious injuries.

His first return to the DTM was driving the DTM taxi at Brands Hatch to find out if he was able to drive again. The Dane rates that moment as his personal highlight of the season.
”I was happy being able to make my comeback at Brands and to do a few laps. That was the happiest moment of my season as I found out that I was able to drive a race car again. Prior to that, I was very much worried as to how my body and my head would feel.”

After being in the pits for three races, Kristensen was able to make his return at Norisring and scored five points immediately.
I was always having headache on Friday and Sunday of each race weekend. Saturday was usually my best day.”

Now Kristensen is focusing for the DTM 2008 where he will drive a 2008 spec’ Audi A4. The goal, reports the Dane, is to perform at a consistent level and not get involved in any accidents.
