Mercedes test for Schumi II confirmed

As TouringCarTimes reported about weeks ago: Ralf Schumacher is taking a step closer to joining the Deutche Tourenwagen Masters with Mercedes. The previous Formula One driver will test for the German manufacturer at Estoril this week.
“Ralf and Norbert Haug have discussed a test before and now the opportunity is here,” said a Mercedes spokesman to dtm.com.

Schumacher recently denied that he was going to drive for the new F1-team Force India, leaving him outside the F1-circus for 2008. Rumors shortly started after that he was going to DTM.

“What will come out of this test is completely open,” said the same spokesman from Mercedes.

Recent rumors also indicates that Schumacher could be joined by another F1-driver. Christian Klien is supposed to be contacted by Mercedes to perform a test along side Schumacher.
