Audi tests in France, Mercedes in Portugal
This week the DTM teams will be testing in preparation of the coming season. The Audi crew started testing yesterday at the French track of Le Castellet. Their competitors, Mercedes, have started their testing work today at the Estoril track in Portugal.
In Estoril, Ralf Schumacher will get another chance of testing a Mercedes. The German driver will take place behind the wheel of a C-Class DTM for the second time. He will drive in a one year old car there. The new 2008 Mercedes car will be tested in Portugal by Jamie Green and Paul di Resta. The Scottish Di Resta is one of the main candidates for the last seat in a new Mercedes car.
Audi will have their Scandinavian drivers Mattias Ekström and Tom Kristensen testing this week with the new Audi A4 DTM 2008. The privateer team TME Futurecom will also be testing at Le Castellet. Katherine Legge will be one of the drivers, being the most likely driver to get Vanina Ickx’s seat. Former Champcar driver Andreas Wirth is also rumoured to test the TME car, being a new candidate for the second cockpit next to Katherine Legge.
