Martin Tomczyk eyeing title race for 2008

Martin Tomczyk is aiming high for the 2008 season with Audi in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. Already in 2006 the German got taste for the title race and got even closer in 2007.
“When you still have got the chance of securing the title when travelling to the season finale it goes without saying that you also want to win this title. But this chance was over as early as in turn three,” said Tomczyk to DTM.de.

Altogether, he celebrated four podium finishes, and twice – at Zandvoort and the Nürburgring – he even made it to the highest step.

“No doubt, the Nürburgring was my season highlight. After all, I dominated throughout the weekend. I qualified for pole position and in the race, I took the lead right at the start.”

Furthermore, the German secured two pole positions and – together with Mattias Ekström – the Team Championship.

For 2008 Tomczyk is driving the completely new Audi A4 and will without a doubt launch a new attack at the title race.
