Margaritis leaves Mercedes and DTM

The fact that Alexandros Margaritis is leaving Mercedes and the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters today was confirmed, something TouringCarTimes reported about earlier this month.
”Retiring from DTM and splitting up with Mercedes-Benz Motorsport was my own decision,” said Margaritis to DTM.de.

“I’m going to inform my supporters on my new programme for the 2008 season in foreseeable future. I’m truly looking forward to the new challenges I’m going to face. And I’d like to use this opportunity to thank Mercedes-Benz Motorsport for their support and promotion in the past three years.”

Margaritis joined Mercedes and DTM last year where his best positions was two fourth places in Hocenheim and Barcelona.
