Prémat fastest on second day at Mugello

Alexandre Prémat has set the fastest time of the second day of testing at Mugello. The day started of on a wet track, on which Maro Engel set the fastest time in the morning. He set a time of 1:57.918. However, during the lunch break the track dried up and the cars were able to run on slicks again in the afternoon. Prémat took advantage of that and set a time of 1:42.764. Second was his teammate Markus Winkelhock, setting a lap time of 1:43.428.

Newcomer Ralf Schumacher was a bit of a surprise in third, doing a lap round the Italian circuit in 1:44.069. Fastest man in a new 2008 spec car was Jamie Green in 4th, just ahead of Martin Tomczyk in a 2008 spec Audi A4 DTM.
