Ekström will make the DTM premiere
Speculations have been made after the incident at Oschersleben, where Mattias Ekström crashed heavily and suffered from a minor concussion, that he is not going to be able to make the DTM premiere this weekend. Today the Swede has confirmed that he will race at Hockenheim.
“Of course I wanted to drive all test days but it is no greater loss. I have continued my physics training as usual and I have prepared my self as much as possible for the premiere,” said Ekström.
The first race takes place as usual at Hockenheim on Sunday the 13th. Audi will make their debut with the new A4-model, something Ekström is looking forward to.
“Hockenheim is something special because, finally, we’ll be able to see how good our new Audi A4 is in comparison to our rivals. Last year I won the race here and of course I’d be delighted with a similarly positive result,” said Ekström.
The light concussion he suffered after the incident is not something he is concerned over now or is affected by.
“I am in good shape and I am really looking forward to race again,” said Ekström.
