Timo Scheider takes Hockenheim pole

Timo Scheider continued his dominance of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters premiere weekend. The Audi-man took pole position ahead of his team mate and reigning champion Mattias Ekström. The both were the only drivers below 1:33 around the Hockenheim-track.

Bruno Spengler was best Mercedes driver with his team mate Paul di Resta behind him in fourth, and only just behind him, 0.041 seconds separated the both.

Tom Kristensen took fifth starting position with Jamie Green, Martin Tomczyk, Olivier Jarvis, Bernd Schneider and Gary Paffett behind.

Previous Formula One-driver Ralf Schumacher is making his DTM-debut this weekend. His best lap was 1:34.425 which put him 15th on the grid.

Best female driver was Susie Stoddart in 17th position with newcomer Katherine Legge in 19:th and last position.
