A1 Ring could be back on the calendar

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters could return once again to the A1 Ring in Austria. Red Bull has restored the track and according to DTM promoter Hans Werner Aufrecht the series is keen to return to Austria.
“It’s no secret that we were happy in Austria. We doubled the spectator figures each year we were there and we’d certainly like to go back there again if the new track permits it,” he said to Autosport.

Last time the DTM raced at A1 Ring was in 2003, after that the track was demolished. Red Bull however are in the process of restoring the track and report that it will be finished early next year.

DTM promoter Aufrecht has also confirm that the series organisers are considering plans to run races in Russia and China in the near future.
