Scheider fastest again in second test
Audi driver Timo Scheider has set the fastest lap time in the second test of today as well. In preparation of the second round of the DTM championship 2008, the German managed to post the quickest time of the day, despite the session starting on a damp track.
At the beginning of the test, the track was very slippery because of a little shower over the track. In the beginning of the session, the cars were driving lap times of 1.38. Towards the end of the session, the track dried up, and the drivers were able to set a couple of fast laps. Timo Scheider managed to the best lap, posting a time of 1:22.171.
Where Audi was supreme in the first test, Mercedes driver Paul di Resta managed to get back up front, posting the second fastest time, although over half a second slower than Audi man Scheider.
Fastest man in a one year old car was newcomer Oliver Jarvis, driving a 2007 Audi A4 DTM. Despite a trip into the gravel trap 30 minutes before the end of the session, he ended the session in fifth place.
Bernd Schneider, who only set the 18th fastest time in the first session, improved during the second session, claiming 8th position.
