Martin Tomczyk tops first Lausitz test

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters weekend at EuroSpeedway Lausitz is go! Martin Tomczyk topped the first test of the weekend in his Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline Audi A4. His best time was 1:20.179, only 0.038 seconds faster than his closest rival – Tom Kristensen. And the top four drivers were very close. Only 0.057 seconds separated Tomczyk, Kristensen, Paul Di Resta and Timo Scheider.

Reigning champion Mattias Ekström was fifth fastest, +0.301 seconds, ahead of previous multiple DTM champion and Mercedes-driver Bernd Schneider.

Previous Mercedes-driver Christijan Albers was behind Schneider in sevenths place, 0.529 seconds behind Tomczyk, in his Audi A4.

The schedule for today contains one more test at 13.25. Qualifying is run tomorrow at 13.28, stay tuned!
