Paul di Resta takes hattrick

Pole position, fastest racelap and the race win; Paul di Resta took it all. The Scotsman won the fourth round of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. The rain stayed away during the race, which would have been the only chance to make it an interesting race.

The only exiting moment happened in the second round of the race. Markus Winkelhock had been hit a couple of times on the rear of his car during the opening lap, and on the main straight his rear tire blew. Winkelhock was unable to keep control of his car and spun of into the pit wall at high speed, ending up in the middle of the track in the first corner. The race was under safety car conditions for a couple of laps, before the race get going again.

Problems during his first pitstop made Bruno Spengler drop back from second to fifth. During his second pit stop, the Canadian dropped down another spot, behind Jamie Green.

Timo Scheider finished the race in second position, ensuring he kept the lead in the championship standings. His team mate Mattias Ekström finished a couple of seconds behind him in third, just ahead of Martin Tomczyk.
