Kristensen starts fastest at Nürburgring

Tom Kristensen started the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters weekend at Nürburgring fastest. The Dane lapped the track in 1:25.212 which was 0.205 seconds faster than the championship leader Timo Scheider. Reigning champion Mattias Ekström was third fastest, making it Audi 1-2-3 in the first free practice session of the weekend.

Best Mercedes-driver was Jamie Green with fourth fastest time, half a second behind Kristensen. His fellow Brit Paul di Resta was fifth fastest ahead of Bruno Spengler in sixth.

After them a further four Audi’s followed in top ten with Markus Winkelhock seventh, Christijan Albers eight, Martin Tomczyk ninth and Mike Rockenfeller ninth.
