Mattias Ekström fastest at Brands Hatch

Reigning champion Mattias Ekström topped the second test session at Brands Hatch in England. As the temperatures increased, the lap times increased. Ekström’s fastest lap was 42.700 which was 0.244 seconds faster compared to his team mate Martin Tomczyk who was second fastest. Championship leader Timo Scheider was third fastest, making it an Audi 1-2-3.

Home-boy Jamie Green was third fastest and the fastest Mercedes-driver. His best time was 43.012, three tenths off Ekström’s pace.

Markus Winkelhock showed strong form in his older Audi A4, setting fifth fastest time ahead of his team mate Mike Rockenfeller in sixth.

Christijan Albers was seventh fastest, Bernd Scheider eigth, Olivier Jarvis ninth and Paul di Resta in tenth.
