Timo Scheider tops first Brands test

Timo Scheider started the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters weekend at Brands Hatch fastest. The Audi-man lapped the short Indy-circuit in 42.577 seconds. Paul di Resta was fastest Mercedes-man in second place, but quite with quite a gap. The Scot was 0.494 seconds slower than Scheider.

Third fastest was reigning champion Mattias Ekström, 0.515 seconds slower than Scheider. Multiple champion Bernd Schneider was fourth fastest, only 0.011 seconds slower than Ekström.

And it was indeed close behind Scheider. 13 drivers were within one second with Martin Tomczyk in 13th.
