Scheider takes 6th career DTM pole
Timo Scheider has taken another pole position ahead of tomorrow’s DTM race on the British track of Brands Hatch. The German set a lap time of 42.084 seconds, giving him a lead of almost one tenth to his next opponent, Paul di Resta.
Scheiders main contender in the championship, Mattias Ekström, was fastest in yesterday’s second test and this mornings free practise session. However, he didn’t manage to keep this strong form in qualifying. He finished in seventh position, 0.336 seconds behind Scheider.
There were two 2007 cars in the last qualifying session. Oliver Jarvis qualified in sixth place in his Audi A4. Gary Paffett set the eighth fastest time with his Mercedes C-Class.
Bernd Schneider (Mercedes) and Tom Kristensen (Audi), both works drivers, failed to get in to the last part of the qualifying session. Schneider qualified in nineth, Tom Kristensen was down in twelfth.
