3 More years at Brands Hatch for DTM
MotorSport Vision have announced that they have secured the British round of the DTM German Touring Car Championship and it is to stay at Brand Hatch for the next three years.
Both parties have agreed a new contract to return to the Kent track for the next three years during the Championship’s visit to the track last weekend.
“DTM enjoys increasing popularity in Great Britain,” said DTM boss Hans Werner Aufrecht.
“The 26,000 spectators that attended this year’s race held at the venue located close to London represented a new record crowd. The extension of the contract represents an important step on the way to further establishing DTM in one of the automotive industry’s core markets.”
“DTM has been the biggest car racing event on our calendar this season, and I am thrilled that the series will be returning to Brands Hatch for the next three years,” added MotorSport Vision’s Chief Executive, Jonathan Palmer.
“DTM’s great atmosphere and exciting racing attracts more British fans each year, and together we will work to make the series even more successful in the UK.”
The date for the 2009 meeting has already been confirmed as 28-30 August.
