Timo Scheider tops first Barcelona practice

Championship leader Timo Scheider continues his strong form in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. The German topped the first practice session at Circuit de Catalunya, Spain. His fastest time was 1:07.935, almost three tenths faster than his closest opponent.

Second fastest was Tom Kristensen ahead of reigning champion Mattias Ekström, making it Audi 1-2-3.

Paul di Resta was fastest Mercedes-driver in fourth, 0.559 seconds behind Scheider. Mike Rockenfeller and Markus Winkelhock in their 2006 specification Audi A4’s were fifth and sixth ahead of Jamie Green in seventh.
